Methods To Made A Kicker Subwoofer Box
In this article let us learn How to Make a Kicker Sub woofer Box. The function of sub woofers is well known.
But we need to understand the maximum efficiency is possible only if the sub woofers are kept properly inside a box. In this article we will not only learn to make the box but also discuss the importance of the box to proper functioning of the sub woofer.
The enclosure or box gives the sub woofer a proper chamber that is strong and sturdy having less resonance to work on. Kicker is leading in the production of sub woofers giving good performance. So in this article we will focus our attention on creating box for kicker sub woofer.
Though the steps involved in doing this job of creating kicker sub woofer looks little complicated it is definitely possible to do it on our own by following the steps outlined clearly in this article. The things that should be kept ready are fiber board which has neither less nor higher density, screws and glues of wood, saw which is circular in shape, drills , speaker wire , terminal cup and finally jig saw.
We need to make side, back, top, bottom and front panels for our box for which we will use the board made of fiber. Two square panels are cut out from the board which will constitute the back and front panel. The side panels must be rectangular in shape and again two other equal pieces are taken out from MDF. In a similar way take out pieces for bottom and top panels.
After finishing the cutting work next step is assembling. Be patient in joining all cut out pieces in proper order such that they look similar to a box with openings at the front and rear ends. The attachment of pieces is done such that they neatly overlap with other . For this we should take the help of glue and screws of wood.
Next we have to make provisions for placing the sub woofer. In the center of front panel a cutting is made. This opening should be of correct size . We can use Kicker sub woofer as a standard just to check if the size is right or if it needs any kind of alterations. Next provision has to be made in a similar way for placing terminal cup also.
After doing this, its time to use glue and screw to paste the back and front pieces cut out from fiber board already. To complete this box the next step would be to connect the wire of the speaker to the terminal cup. The wire is fixed firmly in the cup with the help of wood screws. The last step is to connect the terminals on sub woofer with the wires of speakers of free end. Once again we use screws for mounting the woofer firmly into our newly created special box.
Thus we have learnt How to Make a Kicker Sub woofer Box by following the step by step procedure along with its importance.

Kicker Car Amplifiers: A History of Raising Car Audio Performance
In 1980, Steve Irby, who is still the head of brand owners Stillwater Design today, developed the first original Kicker – the first full-range speaker box set designed solely for the car. Steve Irby had a dream to make car audio systems like no other – to make car audio systems high performance, loud and powerful.
Stillwater Design, the facilitator of the Kicker brand, released their first full range speaker in 1980. It incorporated a woofer, mid-range speaker and a tweeter, in order to reach all possible notes, from high and mid to bass/low. It gave a more accurate reproduction of sound in the car, which had up until then solely been available in home stereo systems. Kicker had changed the history of the car audio system, making it possible to have high quality sound and vastly ranging notes in the car.
Early Beginnings
In 1973, Stillwater Design appeared on the audio manufacturing scene. The two-person operation started out by building sound and musical instrument speakers for small events in churches, auditoriums and entertainers. After their breakthrough with the first ever Kicker speaker, the company turned its head to the mobile-audio market and began to create, develop and manufacture the powerful and high performance car audio components that we know so well today.
In 1986, Kicker expanded their range to high performance woofers. They discovered that a subwoofer by itself could generate the intense bass that was beginning to get very popular with music fans. Only a few years later, in 1993, they released their first powerful amplifier, which would power their highly performance speakers and woofers.
The 1990's and Beyond
Kicker then branched out beyond cars and into marina audio equipment for boats. They designed water and weather proof systems that could take the brutal conditions of the sea, rivers and canals. The system is especially designed so that it does not interfere with the navigation system, does not rust or damage in the sun.
Kicker has in the last few years began to make high performance home audio systems, including stereos and i-Pod/Zune stereo systems. Extending its range further and further, Kicker contributed to audio systems in the car, boat and home, ultimate power and performance.
