Home made speaker box 12V with batteries

Will my car sub sound ok?

I have a home theater sub (Polk Audio PSW505) that I'm basing my car subwoofer enclosure off of. The new box's volume is a bit smaller than the original and the slot port is a bit shallower. Will the sub still sound ok? I'm using the exact same woofer. ( I though I broke the woofer in the PSW505 so I got a new one, it turns out the woofer was fine so now I have two)

a smaller volume of air will give it a higher q which means a hump in frequency probably around 50hz or so.. and you dont really know what the box will be tuned to unless ya have the specs for the woofer( i am calling it a woofer cause most "subs" sold at big box stores rarely ever get down to 30hz even though they claim to). guess time ill tell about how it sounds.should sound ok but if it is tuned too high all frequencies below the tuning frequency result in audible distortion at higher volumes
